My Experience In The BPO Industry (Part 1)

Image
( PHOTO SOURCE ) Thank you for contacting customer support. How can I make your day better? I was in my fourth year of college when I entered the call center. I was looking for a company where I will finish my on-the-job training (OJT). I am in the field of computers so I decided to work as a technical support representative in the call center. My reason for entering the call center was because I do not want to spend my 4 months of OJT without getting good money. I don't want to get that very small allowance that the companies give to the students on OJT. I was feeling confident to pass the first company I tried, but unfortunately, I failed. However, the recruitment team gave me the things I need to improve to pass the application in the future.  So I stayed at home for two weeks. All I did during the daytime was watching English movies, series, and talk shows. I exposed myself to how the American people express themselves. I never even watched any Filipino shows, news, and even ad...

How I Overcame CoVid19

Image
( Photo source )  Prior to having CoVid, I was one of those feeling immortals who think that I will never get infected by this virus. I was thinking that I have these antibodies because I have sinusitis, I always take 30ml of virgin coconut oil, I expose my skin to the sunlight every 9AM for 10 minutes, and 2000mg of vitamin C. Basta akala ko iyang mga iyan lang ang kailangan ng katawan ko para maprotektahan sa virus. Pero I was wrong.  On the 18th of August, my mom told me that dad is having a cough, he was not having any fever but was not advised to report to work since he is a PUI( Person Under Investigation). He was not isolating himself, he was still engaging with us every morning, then on the 20th of August, he already has a fever. That was the time that I thought he should be isolated. He got his check-up with a doctor, the doctor gave him an anti-biotic - CoAmoxiclav. On the 22nd of August, it was the last day of my work. I felt so heavy and having just a bit of a head...

Asia's Skylark, Jessica Villarubin Making Some Noise

Image
( Photo Source ) The Philippines, a country of very talented singers. First is Lea Salonga, the Disney legend who has a voice very much clearer than my future. The voice behind Disney movies like Mulan and Jasmine of Aladin. I already wrote here in this blog that I am a hard-of-hearing person (PWD) and I find it hard to understand every single word of a song, but when I hear Lea in her YouTube videos, I can understand most of what is coming out of her music. I hear every note and every technic very clear, though not as loud as what a normal person without a hearing problem can. Next is the Asia's Songbird, Regine Velasquez. The mother of all the young singers today. The singer who can hit A2 - B6. I grew up listening to her songs. Yes, I was able to hear ever since I was born until 2012 until measles hit me, so that explains it. Haha! There is also Asia's Nightingale, Lani Misalucha who can sing several genres of songs like pop, rock, soul, jazz, R&B, and opera arias. She...

Start Of My Stock Market Journey

Image
( Photo source ) When I was a child, we always go to UniWide. For me, that was the only supermarket at that time as it is the only place we buy our home supplies. After a few years, it was burned and was lost in the memories of the people in Cainta, Rizal, and nearby suburbs. As I get old, many supermarkets are coming out. I have not been to the S&R Supermarket yet even though there is one close branch from where I work in Shaw, Mandaluyong. I miss going to The Landmark Supermarket when I go to Trinoma Mall in Quezon City. I also miss Rustan’s in Gateway Mall when I pass Cubao, Quezon City going to my office in Mandaluyong as I only need to travel riding the Light Rail Transit 2(LRT2) and Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT3). Here are some of the popular supermarkets in the Metro: Super8 The Marketplace Metro Supermarket SM Hypermarket PureGold S&R Robinson’s Supermarket And now, the newest supermarket where you can buy your groceries is MerryMart. Well, I would never k...

What I Do During My Off From Work

Image
Hello readers! So it is my day off from work today and all I want to do is to become productive the best that I can. Working in a BPO industry will give you a shifting schedule and you would say goodbye to your daily routine as your shit always changes from time to time. As for me, my day-offs for this week will be today, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We were previously on a blocked schedule where all of our day-offs are on weekends, Saturday, and Sunday, but as we agreed during our application that we are amenable to work on a shifting schedule, here we are now and having weekdays off. That is still not bad, however. As long as we have worked so we can pay our bills and have food to eat on our tables coming from my salary.  Should I say goodbye to my work-life balance? Well, I would say not that much at all. I am still able to go to the gym, clean the house and do blogging. I am still thankful that I am now on the day shift schedule since my mom needs assistance almost all the ti...
