Start Of My Stock Market Journey

When I was a child, we always go to UniWide. For me, that was the only supermarket at that time as it is the only place we buy our home supplies. After a few years, it was burned and was lost in the memories of the people in Cainta, Rizal, and nearby suburbs. As I get old, many supermarkets are coming out. I have not been to the S&R Supermarket yet even though there is one close branch from where I work in Shaw, Mandaluyong. I miss going to The Landmark Supermarket when I go to Trinoma Mall in Quezon City. I also miss Rustan’s in Gateway Mall when I pass Cubao, Quezon City going to my office in Mandaluyong as I only need to travel riding the Light Rail Transit 2(LRT2) and Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT3). Here are some of the popular supermarkets in the Metro:

Super8
The Marketplace
Metro Supermarket
SM Hypermarket
PureGold
S&R
Robinson’s Supermarket

And now, the newest supermarket where you can buy your groceries is MerryMart. Well, I would never know MerryMart if not because of the pandemic. It was June, last year when MerryMart started to give some noise in the stock market. MerryMart had an Initial Public Offering of one Philippine Peso per share. So I did not have a second thought at all, but to invest in the MerryMart stocks.

I am just a commoner or maybe lower than a commoner when it comes to the consumer levels. I work in a BPO and having just almost enough salary for my daily needs. Almost, because there are things I need to wait for a few salary days before I get to buy them. When the virus got worse last year, we need to stay at home and work from home to be protected and safe and so we can still assist all our customers worldwide. That’s the point in my life I get to save more and even buy more for my family as I don’t have to spend money to travel to work.

So I invested four thousand Pesos(4,000 PHP) in MerryMart. You realize that is just a bit of money you can spend in one day, but that is my savings for three months. Well, I had a total savings of five thousand, but of course, I need to keep a few for my needs for the whole month. Luckily, I was able to survive that month of hunger.

The day MerryMart started its debut in the Philippine Stock Market, I was very optimistic and thinking of long term investment with MerryMart. You will see its success in the stock market from this page. MerryMart being one of the essentials during this pandemic as it runs the business with food, beauty products, and medicine made some noise in the Philippine Stock Market on its initial week, Giving me confidence and no regrets with the first-ever stock I bought with my hard-earned money.

MerryMart is still doing great in stock trading as of today. I will tell more of the stocks I have on my future blogs. Catch ya soon!
