My Thoughts About iPhone VS Android Phones

The first Android phone I used was MyPhone. The Filipino brand phone. It is not bad as it is using the latest operating system version at that time which was Marshmallow and it has Octa-core and 2 GB of RAM. This was my phone when I had no job, then next was Asus Zenfone M1 when I was earning money online through the social media that pays like Tsu, 3tags, WowApp, and now Lyka. I still have WowApp on my phone today as I was the pioneer user in the Philippines and my network is almost 9,000 so I am still earning from the users in my network.

Most of us Filipinos are mid-range phone users including me. Never in my wildest dream have thought to have an iPhone or even one of the premium flagship phones today like the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. I am happy to have a Xiaomi phone or even Huawei with the lite version of its premium phones - but not anymore until it lost the Android operating system which is really heartbreaking to me as I like its camera so much. Though I have read some articles where you can install the Android OS on a Huawei smartphone. I never tried the Google Pixel 4a yet, but I have plans to buy the Google Pixel 4a 5G maybe when I have extra money this year. I have read the reviews from social media that its camera is a lot better than Huawei's and the price is affordable! The reason why I don't like Samsung phones even their A series is that the price is too much for the features. If Xiaomi and RealMe can sell the phones at a lower price, then I would choose one of them. There are other phone brands that are also getting popular here in the Philippines. We see them in online shopping apps like Lazada and Shopee, we also see them in Facebook ads. Here are the other affordable phone brands I know:

OnePlus
Oppo
Vivo
Techno
Infinix
Ulefone
Oukitel
Umidigi
Doogee
Sharp

I would like to extend my apologies for the premium phone brands who started the competition like LG, Sony, Motorola, HTC, Nokia, and BlackBerry as I just cannot afford to buy one - I think Nokia is trying to steal the mid-range market. Well, I had a BlackBerry phone before when it still has its RIM OS. I should say that is the next best OS to iOS. However, I would say Android is now the best OS for me when I already own an iPhone X - I just got one last December when it was launched in 2017.

What I miss on Android is the ability to duplicate the apps. Well, if you have two or more Instagram or Facebook accounts, you will surely need to have two apps for each. I also miss the developer mode in Android where I can run a fake GPS app. When you have an app that needs you to be on another location like Pokemon Go, you will need the fake GPS app running on your phone, though it will require a long-lasting battery. I believe you can also do these on your iPhone if you jailbreak the handset. Though jailbreaking my iPhone is not yet crossing my mind. Another thing I learned is that you can install the Android-based custom user interface of one Android smartphone to another Android smartphone. An example is that you can install the OxygenOS of OnePlus to your Oppo phone if you don't like its ColorOS. Well, that is the power of being an open-source software. You can do everything to it and all the hacks are on the internet.

The best feature on iOS for me is that you can have your iPhone for years and the version of the operating system still can be updated. Just like the iPhone 6 can still be updated with the latest iOS version even though it was launched in 2014. Man, that was seven years ago! So iPhone can be pretty expensive, but the best thing is that you don't need to replace your phone once a year when the new OS version came out.
